Imo State APC Suspends 4 Party Members.

The State Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Imo State has passed a vote of no confidence on some State officers of the Party, including the embattled State Chairman of the Party, Mr Hilary Ekeh and his deputy, Mr. Ugochukwu Nzekwe for gross violation of the Party's Constitution and actions inimical to the continued progress and harmony of the Party in the State.

Imo State APC Suspends 4 Party Members

The motion which was signed by 22 State officers of the Party and addressed to the national Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, also indefinitely suspended one Engr. OGUCHIENTI who until his suspension was the State Publicity Secretary of the Party. Also hit by the long awaited hammer is the State Organizing Secretary of the Party, Chief Clement Anozie.

These Party officials are accused of appropriating positions given to them by members of the Party in the State for self gains. The Party officers insist that these officials have eroded the confidence of Party members and by extension attempted to weaken the confidence of the general populace in the Party through their public conduct and utterances. The Party officials invoked Article 17 of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress against these officials.

Recall that Mr Hilary Ekeh, Ugochukwu Nzekwe, Clement Anozie and Oguchienti have recently constituted themselves into an embarrassment to the Imo APC by making public utterances that portray the APC in the State in bad light and cast doubts on the integrity and democratic credentials of the Party. Their actions have shaken the confidence of many Party members in the State, as most members of the Party have become disenchanted with some of them complaining that the actions of Hilary Ekeh and his unconscionable co-travelers have depicted the Party as undemocratic and corrupt.

Party members across the State have expressed relief at this development, as their confidence in the Party has been restored through this action. Chief Okechukwu Marvin, a chieftain of the Party from Isiala Mbano said he received the news of this suspension with a lot of joy. According to him;
"I was already considering quitting the APC, because I could not imagine myself been in a Party where my State Chairman and some top officers of the Party have made themselves objects of mockery. I cannot associate with a Party Chairman or State officers who would say one thing today and in less than twelve hours say a different thing. How can I associate with a State Chairman who believes that members of his Party do not matter, hence, he allegedly collected money from people whose membership of the Party is in serious contention and believe he could sell the Party to them? How can I associate with a Chairman or an Organizing Secretary who could be shameless enough to tell the world that there was ward congress of our Party, while I waited in the ward office of our Party the whole of 5th of May without seeing any official of the Party or any material for the conduct of the congress? I thank these officers of the Party for taking this very important step to save our Party from the embarrassment that this hilarious Ekeh and his gang constitute. God bless them." He concluded.
The general public is put on notice not to have anything to do with these men on behalf of the Party, as such will be at their own risk. These four men; Hilary Ekeh, Ugochukwu Nzekwe, Clement Anozie and Oguchienti have lost every authority to represent the Party at any level and in any capacity.
